billy hickey

For the local Generation X demographic, Billy requires no introduction. Billy broke onto the music scene in a large way in Newfoundland & Labrador back in the late 90’s when his band Timber released their self-titled debut album. Timber resonated enormously with local listeners in their teens and 20’s by combining an upbeat alternative rock sound with relatable lyrics, and the unique vocal stylings of an amazing front man, Billy Hickey.

Timber won multiple awards over the years culminating with winning “Independent Song of The Year” at Canada Music Week in Toronto in 2001 for their song “Parade”.

The band also gained massive notoriety when the hit song “Foundering” was chosen as the theme song for a U.S. network TV show starring famous 90’s actress, Jennifer Love Hewitt.

Timber released a total of 3 albums and continue to enjoy a massive fan base 20 years since they began.
